PERNAND - VERGELESSES 1ER CRU “CREUX DE LA NET”

Vineyard:

Established in the Middle Ages, in the north of the Côte de Beaune, this rolling vineyard covers the sides of the hills of Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-les-Beaune. It is the diversity of these soils and different exposures that give each of its Crus a very distinctive identity.

The area of production for white wines covers 54 ha, of which 7 are Premiers Crus covering 17.60 ha: Sous Frétille, En Caradeux, Clos Berthet, Clos du Village, Les Quartiers, La Morand, and Village de Pernand.

Yield: 45 Hectoliters/hectare

Production: 750 bottles

Description:

Very nice clarity, a white gold color with golden highlights.

Good aromatic intensity, the nose opens on notes of white fleshed fruits (peach/apricot) with notes of flowers (acacia), spices (anise, nutmeg), and oranges on a mineral background.

On the palate, well delineated and fresh.

A good balance and harmony between the roundness and acidity. A long finish on minerality.

Winemaking and ageing:

Grapes come from our domain in the 2nd year of conversion towards organic farming certified by FR-BIO 10. Manual harvest and pneumatic press.  Ageing in one 350 liter oak barrel and one traditional 228 liter oak barrel. Bottling at the beginning of September 2012.

Service:

Perfect as an aperitif, served between 12 and 14°C, this wine will also be perfect in the company of seafood dishes, pan fried scallops, fish and grilled crustaceans, hot oysters au gratin… It will also go very well with goat cheeses such as Sainte-Maure, Valençay, Pélardon…
